What to expect from this course
Our one day Schools First Aid Course is perfect for teachers and support staff and covers all of the first aid emergencies that most frequently arise in Primary and Secondary school settings. A great course for an INSET day!
This course enables school staff to be trained in both child and adult first aid and satisfies the HSE criteria for Emergency First Aid at Work.
(Staff working with children under 5 years can complete our accredited paediatric elearning module before attending the training day, enabling them to meet EYFS & OFSTED requirements for the Full Paediatric First Aid certificate.)
Subjects covered include:
- the role of the first aider
- managing a first aid incident
- primary assessment
- CPR and use of an AED (defibrillator)
- choking and asphyxia
- seizures
- unresponsive casualty
- recovery position
- asthma
- allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
- wounds and bleeds

Availability
This course is available
On-site at your school or nursery, 7 days a week, across the UK.

Duration
6 hours plus breaks. (7 hours plus breaks if you combine this course with Paediatric First Aid for Early Years)

Assessment
Continuous assessment by your instructor.
If for any reason a learner is unable to demonstrate the practical skills taught on the course they will be invited to attend one of our Open courses completely free of charge.

Certification
On successful completion of the course you will receive a nationally recognised FAIB Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years.
Learners who complete the Paediatric First Aid elearning module will also receive a nationally recognised FAIB Paediatric First Aid certificate valid for three years.
