The London Air Ambulance is our chosen charity

Stand Up For London’s Air Ambulance – What a success!

On Sunday we hosted a special charity event in support of the London Air Ambulance, which was held Upstairs at The Gatehouse.

Not only are they our charity partner but they also have a place close to my heart as they helped save my son’s life after a car accident we were both involved in.

It was a hilarious evening of comedy from Doc Brown, Jeff Innocent, Jo Brand and Sindhu Vee who all kindly gave up their time to entertain us all. A special thank you to Jeff Innocent for stepping in as compere at the 11th hour to cover for Arthur Smith who sadly couldn’t make it.

It means a huge amount to us that they gave up their time to support a charity that means so much to me and many other Londoners whose lives they have touched. It was interesting to learn from both the comedians and members of the audience that we aren’t the only ones that have the London Air Ambulance to thank for saving our loved ones.

I also want to say a huge thank you to Roma Felstein who co-founded Safe and Sound with me nearly 20 years ago; she organised the event brilliantly, as always and secured a line up that far exceeded our expectations.

London’s Air Ambulance relies heavily on charitable donations to serve the 10 million people that live work and travel within the M25. Treating an average of five patients every day, the most common incidents they attend include road traffic collisions, stabbings and shootings, falls from height and incidents on the rail network.

Your generosity meant that we raised nearly £6000 to help keep London’s Air Ambulance in the air, saving the lives of Londoners every day of the year!

Thank you to all of you amazing people who helped to make last night’s event such a success!
